Greek Prime Minister and President held a phone conversation on Tuesday after renewed a Navtex NAVTEX (notice to mariners) reserving an area inside Block 3 of ’s exclusive economic zone (EEZ) for a military exercise.

The previous notice, which expires on Thursday, has been used as a justification not to allow the Saipem 1200 drillship chartered by Italian giant , or any other vessel for that matter, to approach Block 3.

Anastasiades is expected to hold an emergency meeting with government ministers later Tuesday to discuss ’s immediate steps. According to Skai, Nicosia is planning to file a demarche with the United Nations, while is also expected to react to ’s move.

Meanwhile, a meeting between ’s party leaders will take place Wednesday at 9.30 a.m.
